Bandhas yoga is an ancient technique that involves using internal body locks to control the flow of energy or prana. These locks help activate specific energy channels and are often practiced during pranayama and meditation. In bandhas yoga, there are three primary locks: Mula Bandha (root lock), Uddiyana Bandha (abdominal lock), and Jalandhara Bandha (throat lock). When combined, they create the Maha Bandha, known as the great lock, which is said to awaken deep energy reserves. Practicing bandhas yoga strengthens the core, improves focus, and enhances the effectiveness of breath control. It also supports detoxification by massaging internal organs. Regular use of bandhas can increase awareness of subtle body movements and energy flow. Although subtle, the practice demands precision and mindfulness. Bandhas yoga is best learned under the guidance of a qualified instructor. Over time, it becomes an essential tool for deepening any yoga practice
