Hi everyone,
Does anyone here still click when sites ask you to “Visit page”? I increasingly don’t. It feels like a pattern left over from early feed aggregators, where you could not trust the excerpt or embed to be canonical or complete.
Today, we have rich embeds, link previews, canonical hints, structured data, and even previewable content in messaging apps. So I think the UX pattern should evolve. If I’m scrolling, I’d rather read or save in place. If I choose to open a new context, it should feel intentional, not a reflex. Curious if anyone has data or experiments on this.
