Before sending my manuscript to Barter. Books Publishers for professional Book editing services, I want to improve it as much as possible. Do you have any self-editing tips?

So far, I’ve been reading the text aloud and using grammar tools, but I feel there’s more I can do. How do you approach issues like pacing, plot holes, or inconsistent characters?

For those who’ve worked with Barter. Books Publishers, how polished was your manuscript before handing it over? Did they help with major revisions, or should I tackle those beforehand?
