Hey everyone,
I wanted to start a discussion around UI/UX design because I think it’s often misunderstood, especially by businesses new to building digital products. A lot of people still think UI/UX is just about making something "pretty" but honestly, great design is about solving real user problems.
UI (User Interface) is all about how the product looks, the layout, typography, colors, and visual elements.
UX (User Experience) is about how it works, the structure, navigation, usability, and overall journey a user goes through when interacting with a site or app.
Here’s why I believe UI/UX is critical:
A well-designed interface reduces bounce rates and improves user engagement
Thoughtful UX design guides users toward taking desired actions (like signing up or purchasing)
Mobile responsiveness and accessibility aren’t optional anymore, they’re a necessity
Consistency in design creates trust and professionalism
In my experience, companies that invest early in UI/UX see better product adoption and fewer costly changes later down the line.
Would love to hear your thoughts
What’s one product or website that you think nails UI/UX and why?
And if you’re working in design or dev, how do you usually approach UI/UX from the start?
Let’s get a good convo going!
Yes, UI/UX is more than looks. UI represents thathow a product looks and UX is how it works. Good design makes things easy and useful for users.
